Career

Islammiyah is a social impact entrepreneur, published author, and high-impact leader. As the founder and Project Manager of the Amdalah Africa Foundation – AMDAF, a registered charity in Ireland, she is dedicated to promoting social inclusion, integration, recognition, justice, and support for migrant women and their families.

 

In addition to her work with AMDAF, she created and convenes an annual Women’s Roundtable, an  emerging global women conference that contributes to personal and community development through important conversations that matter, and issues that affect women and position them for success.

 

In 2021, she launched Ireland’s first multilingual community radio station, focusing on amplifying the voices of marginalised groups and promoting cultural heritage. Islammiyah frequently speaks to diverse audiences with the mission to inspire and empower.

 

We rise by lifting others; and for us to create our path to success, we have to put our abilities, and strengths to good use.

 

Community Development

Islammiyah is a three-time best-selling author and a socially focused playwright, having written about child paternity, sickle cell anemia, and domestic violence.

She is a strong advocate for inclusion and sustainable development. Currently, she serves on the Steering Committee for the Headford Smart Villages project and the Galway Equality and Civil Society Panel. She has also contributed to the Galway Public Sector Duty and Human Rights in Action initiatives and served on the Board of the Galway City Community Network.

She works with community groups in Galway through her charity organisation, AMDAF, while  promoting their efforts through GOCOM Radio.

 

Education

Islammiyah holds a Master’s degree in Gender, Globalisation, and Rights from the University of Galway. She earned her first degree in Mass Communication and has obtained various certifications, including Social Entrepreneurship and Migrant Leadership from the Immigrant Council of Ireland. Additionally, she has completed Management and High Potential Leadership training with Common Purpose, as well as a Social Enterprise Business Course with Rethink Ireland and Social Entrepreneurs Ireland.

Family

Islammiyah is a mother of three and is married to Barry Kadejo, an enthusiastic and ambitious IT Engineer and Computer Network Analyst. He also manages her professional endeavours, providing support in her various initiatives and projects.

SHE Impacts is a mission to Support, Help, Empower and Impact positive transformation in people and sustainable development in my community. SHE Impacts is a gift of hope, courage, joy, and happiness from Islammiyah to everyone she meets.
The essence of my being is to impact lives. I help people to discover who they are, their abilities, and strength. I help people to develop their values, shine their light, become confident, and succeed doing what they love; and ultimately pay it forward – impact others.
